Why you are here

You don't have to be in crisis to know that something needs to change.

Listening to the signals of your body and mind is the first step of the process.

If any of this resonates, you're not broken. You're ready for a real process.

It's not a retreat. It's a process.

The "spiritual tourism" industry has packaged ancestral medicine into weekend experiences. That produces catharsis, but rarely produces change.

Dosis Umbral was born in response to this. It's a clinical and ceremonial container of 21 days designed for people willing to do the deep work that true transformation requires.

The name says it all

In pharmacology, the "threshold dose" is the minimum amount of a substance necessary to produce a measurable effect. In psychology, the "threshold" is the entry point to a new state of consciousness. We provide the container; you cross the threshold.

Daytime ceremonial ayahuasca

Unlike the nocturnal tradition, we work during the day. Sunlight completely changes the neurobiology of the experience: it reduces fear, minimizes visual confusion and allows much more conscious, clear and direct therapeutic work with trauma.

Silence as methodology

No distractions. No phones. There are structured periods of noble silence. External noise is shut off so that internal material can emerge and be processed.

Integration as the real core

The ceremony shows you the door; integration is walking through it. We dedicate more time to processing, understanding and anchoring the experience than to the ceremony itself.

Lineage and rigor

We deeply respect the Amazonian tradition, but we frame it within a modern understanding of trauma, the nervous system and depth psychology.

The Tools

Ancient tools. Modern understanding.

We don't use the plants as an escape, but as a microscope. Each one has a specific function in the architecture of the 21 days.

Temazcal
The purification

Temazcal

Nervous regulationDetoxification

A traditional sweat lodge. Physiologically, extreme heat stimulates the immune system and relaxes muscle fascia. Psychologically, it confronts mental resistance and teaches the body to surrender to discomfort, a vital skill for later ceremonies.

Kambó
The cleansing

Kambó

Peptide resetMental clarity

The secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog. It contains a cocktail of bioactive peptides that provoke an intense physical purge. It cleanses the liver, gallbladder and digestive tract. The result is a feeling of extreme lightness and the elimination of 'panema' (stagnant energy).

Integration Circles
The community

Integration Circles

CommunityConnection

Group spaces designed to weave authentic bonds between participants. More than social support, they function as a fabric of trust where each person can be seen, heard and held. Here experiences are processed, vulnerabilities are shared and a support network is built that transcends the 21 days of the program.

The Structure

Three weeks. One progression. A process designed leaving nothing to chance.

Each day has a purpose. Intensity rises gradually and then descends to allow consolidation.

Week 1: Landing

Decompression and Cleansing

You arrive with an accelerated nervous system. This week is about slowing down. Strict diet, silence, Kambó to cleanse the physical body and Temazcal to release accumulated tension. We prepare the ground.

Week 3: Integration

Consolidation and Return

The medicine has done its work; now it's your turn. We break the silence gradually. Practical integration workshops, somatic tools to take home, and preparation for return to your daily life.

The science behind the process

Why this works when other things haven't.

Real change requires altering the way your nervous system processes reality. Our 21-day protocol is biologically and psychologically designed to achieve this.

1

Controlled Dysregulation

The role of Kambó and Temazcal

Before ayahuasca, we need to clean the physical and somatic filters. Kambó resets the immune and peptide system. Temazcal works on cellular memory through heat and containment. We prepare the body so the mind can relinquish control.

Equipo Umbral Dosis
The Team

We are not just another retreat. We are the result of decades of real work.

The founders of Dosis Umbral come from the Callejón de los Conchucos, territory of the Chavín culture — one of the oldest traditions in the Andes — and from deep training with the Shipibo in Ucayali, the world-reference lineage in ayahuasca work.

This ancestral foundation grew in parallel with rigorous study of the most advanced therapeutic models in the world: MAPS protocols, James Fadiman's work on conscious dosing, trauma neuroscience, and the principles of clinical set and setting.

Before creating this program, we worked for over a decade accompanying processes with medicine at large scale — thousands of people, hundreds of ceremonies. We learned to recognize when an experience produces real change and when it only produces intensity.

Today the team integrates ceremonial guides, a specialist dedicated to therapeutic integration, and support people trained to sustain complex human processes with presence, ethics, and real care.

Eligibility

This program is not for everyone. And that's exactly how it should be.

We fiercely protect the integrity of the container. A small group requires that each participant is truly ready for the process.

YES, this is for you if:

  • You are willing to look at your shadows with radical honesty.
  • You understand that the medicine doesn't "fix" you, but shows you how to fix yourself.
  • You have the capacity to sustain temporary physical and emotional discomfort.
  • You are willing to disconnect from your phone and the outside world for 21 days.
  • You seek a structural change in your life, not just an interesting experience.

NOT for you if:

  • You are looking for spiritual vacations or psychedelic tourism.
  • You want someone else to do the work for you.
  • You have a history of schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar disorder or are taking SSRI antidepressants.
  • You are not willing to respect the silence or the rules of the container.
  • You are in the middle of an acute psychiatric crisis requiring hospitalization.

* All applicants must undergo a clinical interview and complete a detailed medical form before being accepted. We reserve the right to admission for safety reasons.

The Space

The place where the process occurs is not a backdrop. It's part of the treatment.

The Sacred Valley

The Sacred Valley

At 2,900 meters above sea level, surrounded by imposing mountains (Apus), the Sacred Valley of the Incas possesses an electromagnetic frequency and stillness that naturally facilitates introspection.

Being here takes you out of your usual context. The altitude, the clean air and the silence force your system to slow down.

Portal Wasi

Portal Wasi

Our center is specifically designed to sustain deep processes. It's not a boutique hotel, it's a healing sanctuary. Comfortable and austere rooms, circular ceremonial spaces, fire areas and gardens designed for contemplation.

The lagoons

The lagoons

We will visit beautiful high-altitude lagoons just a few kilometers away. During integration days, we will hike to these bodies of water, using physical effort and the immensity of the landscape to anchor the understandings gained during ceremony.

Pisac Archaeological Complex

Pisac Archaeological Complex

The Intihuatana — the stone that ties the sun — is an Inca ceremonial instrument carved in living rock, used to mark the cycles of the cosmos and the relationship between the earth and sunlight.

Entry is included in the program. We will do a complete and unconventional tour, guided by someone with real roots in this territory — beyond the usual tourist circuits.

Frequently Asked Questions

What you need to know before applying.

The Amazonian tradition works at night, which is excellent for mystical visions. However, for trauma work and psychological restructuring, nighttime often generates fear, confusion and paranoia. By working during the day, the prefrontal cortex stays more active. You can see your surroundings, feel safe, and observe your internal processes with clinical clarity instead of being swept away by them.

Safety is our absolute priority. We conduct a rigorous medical and psychological screening before accepting any participant. During the program, we have facilitators trained in first aid and emergency protocols, and we have a doctor on call available in the Sacred Valley.

Yes. In fact, it's often an advantage to have no prior expectations. What we require is not experience with psychedelics, but emotional maturity, willingness to do the work, and capacity for self-observation.

It depends on the medication. SSRI antidepressants are strictly contraindicated with Ayahuasca due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Other medications for blood pressure or heart conditions also require evaluation. You must declare EVERYTHING you take in your medical form.

No. We require complete digital disconnection during the 21 days. You will hand over your devices upon arrival. This is fundamental for the process and for maintaining the group container. We will give you an emergency number so your family can contact us if absolutely necessary.

We serve a vegetarian diet, nutritious but austere, specifically designed not to interfere with the medicines. No salt, no refined sugar, no dairy, no strong spices, no caffeine. It's part of the physical and mental cleansing process.

The program includes two group online integration sessions in the weeks following the retreat. Additionally, you will take away a clear framework and somatic practices to continue your process at home.

The investment covers the full 21 days: accommodation, meals, all ceremonies, 24/7 facilitation, local transport and post-program integration sessions. It does not include flights to Cusco. To find out current prices and payment options, please schedule a call with us.

The Next Step

If you made it this far, you already know if this is for you.

There's no need to convince you of anything. If something resonated — if you recognized yourself in the questions, if something moved in you as you read — that recognition is already information.

The next step is not a commitment. It's a conversation.
